The client aimed to establish a sustainable supply chain in Vietnam for foldable trolleys. Their goal was to identify reliable manufacturing partners capable of managing key production processes while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and long-term supply stability.
Challenges
Establishing a new supply chain in Vietnam required the client to overcome several sourcing challenges:
Limited supplier availability
While Vietnam has many manufacturers producing steel products, only a small number could meet the client’s requirement for integrated production capabilities. The client needed a supplier capable of handling multiple critical manufacturing processes in-house to ensure consistent quality, better production control, and supply chain efficiency.
Specialized manufacturing capabilities
The client’s production requirements included a specialized post-assembly galvanizing process, which demanded facilities with large-scale galvanizing equipment. Identifying manufacturers with both the required technical capabilities and sufficient production capacity significantly narrowed the pool of potential suppliers.

Supplier search & shortlisting
Our team conducted extensive market research to identify potential manufacturers across Vietnam. Suppliers were shortlisted based on their production capabilities, integrated manufacturing processes, export experience, and sustainability practices.
Factory evaluation
The shortlisted factories were further assessed through capability evaluations, technical discussions, and production reviews to verify their ability to meet the client’s manufacturing and galvanizing requirements.
Supplier recommendation & commercial negotiation
We presented the most suitable manufacturing partners to the client and supported discussions with the shortlisted factories. The team facilitated technical clarification, production planning, commercial negotiations, and alignment on key terms to help the client move confidently toward supplier selection.
Results
MoveToAsia conducted a comprehensive sourcing process, starting with a long list of 88 potential manufacturers across Vietnam.
Through a structured screening and technical evaluation process, the team narrowed the list to 10 qualified manufacturers that met the client’s production and technical requirements. We then conducted an internal pre-audit to further assess factory readiness and suitability, which refined the list to 7 factories for the client’s on-site visits. During these visits, we provided technical assessments and facilitated discussions with each supplier.
Following the audit phase, 5 manufacturers were shortlisted to proceed with sample development and commercial negotiations. This enabled the client to compare product quality, manufacturing capabilities, and commercial terms before moving forward with supplier selection.
