Vietnam Manufacturing Oversight for a European Handcrafted Products BrandVietnam Factory audits, Production Oversight & Quality Control for a European Handcrafted Products Brand
Client Objective
A European entrepreneur was preparing to launch a curated collection of Vietnamese handcrafted products for the European market.
The project began with the production of lacquer trays, while additional handcrafted items, including ceramics, decorative gift boxes, and small gift products, were still under evaluation for future collections.
As the client had no local team in Vietnam, they needed a trusted partner to coordinate with the manufacturer, monitor production, verify product quality, and support export logistics.
Challenges
Remote Production Management
Managing production from overseas made it difficult for the client to communicate directly with the manufacturer, monitor production progress, and respond quickly to any issues that arose during the project.
Communication Barriers
Technical specifications, packaging requirements, and production updates required clear communication. Language differences increased the risk of misunderstandings that could affect product quality or delivery timelines.
Quality Assurance
For a new product launch, ensuring that the finished products matched the approved sample was essential. The client needed independent quality verification before shipment to minimize the risk of receiving products that did not meet expectations.
Preparing for Future Expansion
Although the first production focused on lacquer trays, the client planned to expand the collection by working with additional Vietnamese manufacturers. Establishing a structured quality control and supplier coordination process from the beginning would help support future product development.
Solution
To support the client’s first production run, MoveToAsia provided local coordination throughout the manufacturing process, combining production follow-up, quality control, and logistics support.
Sample Review
Before mass production, product samples were delivered to the MoveToAsia office for review.
Our team evaluated the samples to understand the client’s quality expectations, including workmanship, finishing, dimensions, and packaging. Any observations were communicated to the manufacturer before production proceeded.
Production Follow-Up & Quality Inspection
During production, we maintained regular communication with the manufacturer to monitor progress, follow up on production milestones, and coordinate discussions between the client and the factory whenever clarification was required.
Based on the production schedule, we arranged quality inspections to verify:
- Product conformity with the approved sample
- Surface finish and workmanship
- Overall product quality
- Packaging requirements before shipment
This independent inspection process helped reduce the risk of quality issues before export.
Logistics Coordination
Once production was completed, we coordinated with the manufacturer and a trusted freight forwarding partner to prepare the shipment and facilitate the export process.
By serving as the local coordination point, we streamlined communication and helped ensure a smoother door-to-door delivery process.
Results
Through local production coordination, quality inspection, and logistics support, MoveToAsia helped the client successfully manage the first stage of their handcrafted product launch in Vietnam.
The project provided greater visibility throughout production, reduced communication risks, and ensured the finished lacquer trays met the agreed quality standards before shipment.
Just as importantly, the workflow established during this initial production creates a solid foundation for future collections as the client expands into additional handcrafted product categories and works with more manufacturers across Vietnam.
